"But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law "
—Galatians 5:22
Think of the plants that are in your house or in you yard. At my house, we have a garden and flowerpots. We have to water them every day and protect them from the harsh summer sun or they will die. When I read this scripture, I think about what it takes to produce fruit or blossoms from a plant. it takes, water, enough sunlight, enough shade and careful attention every single day.
So what about my spiritual life and my relationship with God? Sometimes I think that I can have good fruit without doing the daily stuff like reading my bible or taking time to pray. The truth is that we can't have good fruit in our lives without attending to it daily, just as if we were watering our plants.
What about you?
1. What about you? What fruit do you see in your life?
2. How can you be better about praying and reading your bible this week?
